Blind Corners to rep the GC at BIGSOUND QLD Regional Showcase

Blind Corners to represent the Gold Coast at BIGSOUND’s Queensland Regional Showcase

Local indie rock outfit Blind Corners are heading to BIGSOUND to represent the Gold Coast at the QLD Regional Showcase on Wednesday 2 September.

Presented as part of BIGSOUND 2026, the showcase will bring together some of Queensland’s most exciting regional artists, shining a spotlight on the music scenes emerging beyond Brisbane. For the Gold Coast, the showcase is a chance to put one of the region’s rising acts firmly in front of a national music industry audience.

Blind Corners took out the Gold Coast Music Prize at the 2025 Gold Coast Music Awards, recognising the band’s artistic impact and promising trajectory. The four-piece act, formed on Tamborine Mountain, has built a reputation for energetic live performances and a distinctive, kaleidoscopic soundscape of grooves, dreamy nostalgic vocals and indie-inspired surf rock guitar riffs. The band is also heading to BIGSOUND on the back of a major milestone, with the release of their debut album Sink or Swim on August 28.

Blind Corners will play alongside a lineup of rising talent from across the Sunshine State, including Che Burns (Sunshine Coast), Hanni (Logan), Tullara (Cairns), and Little Forest (Noosa).

Artists, managers, promoters, venues, councils and other music industry professionals will come together for the Showcase, creating an opportunity for BIGSOUND delegates to discover emerging regional talent and build connections with the people shaping Queensland’s music scene. The event is open to BIGSOUND delegates and includes an open bar, live performances and networking.

The QLD Regional Showcase is presented by Sunshine Coast Music Industry Collective and Kingston Butter Factory, with support from Invest Gold Coast, Gold Coast Music Alliance, Cairns Regional Council and Noosa Council.

BIGSOUND runs from 1–4 September across Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, bringing artists, industry professionals and music fans together for one of the country’s biggest music industry events.
