We’re excited to announce the eight young artists and bands who have been selected to participate in CREATE.MAKE.RELEASE., a Gold Coast Music Network program designed to support the next generation of music makers.
The calibre of expressions of interest received was incredibly impressive. We received 38 applications from artists and bands aged 12-18 years for just eight places, making for an extremely competitive selection process. In addition to musical merit, the selection panel considered a range of factors to create a balanced cohort, including genre diversity, age, gender and artistic backgrounds.
A huge congratulations to the artists and bands selected:
- Ava Thorn
- Harper Brooklyn
- Henry Catania
- Mackenna Rose
- LanGwij
- Miller Muchow
- MYLES
- Silo
There is an exciting depth of young musical talent emerging across our region, and we are thrilled to support the next generation of local musicians in their artistic journey.
Over the coming months, these 8 emerging artists and bands will work with producers Sunny Luwe and Matthew Collins from Peace and Love Records to develop, record and release their own original song. Artists will also participate in a range of professional development opportunities with Peace and Love Records, TAFE Queensland and Konnection Artist Assistance to support their growth as artists.
The CREATE. MAKE. RELEASE. program will culminate in a live listening party on November 28 at Miami Marketta where we will gather with family, friends and the local music industry to hear their songs and celebrate these eight talented acts. More details to come.
This project is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
